The backstage hair:first looks course is the fastest way for hairstylists to get their hands on the new season - the styling and trends that have just debuted at the Spring/Summer 2027 fashion weeks and the shows that followed - and bring them straight into their salon and backstage work.

Whether you are a salon stylist who wants to offer your clients the new season before anyone else, or an all access, beginners or advanced alumnus who wants to stay on top of every season, first looks was built for you. This is not a theory course. This is not a trend report. This is the new season, first-hand.

Over one intensive day, you will go from understanding what defined this season's runways - the ideas, the shapes, the finishes - to executing the looks themselves, step by step. You will learn how they were conceived, built, and delivered backstage, and you will leave knowing how to translate them for your clients the very next day. The looks are only revealed on the day - just like backstage.

The hands-on sessions, totalling 8 hours, are designed so that you practise every technique until it is yours. Nothing is theoretical without being applied. Nothing is left unfinished.

As a participant, you will also gain access to industry-leading resources and a network of professionals across both the fashion and salon worlds - connections that open real doors, on and off the runway.

You will be provided with all the material needed to perform the various techniques; please feel free to bring your own, if you wish (full material list available upon request).

The course will be lectured at Joana Neves Education, in the centre of Aveiro, from 10AM–7PM, with a 1-hour lunch break.
You will be provided with snacks and refreshments throughout the day. Lunch is not included.

The course cost is 450€.

You can choose to pay the course in full and book it now, or pay a 100€ deposit to secure your place, paying the remainder in instalments up until 10 days before the course - please email João at jo@joananeves.com for more information.

Refund Policy

Cancellations received more than 30 days before the course start date will be entitled to a full refund.
We are unable to offer refunds to any customer who is unable to attend the course due to contracting COVID-19 or any other illness.
Reservations that fail to pay any instalment within 24 hours of the agreed dates will be released; reservation fees and any instalments already paid will not be entitled to a refund.
